As we have discussed many times, today man's income has reduced and expenses are high, due to which they have to face problems. In such a situation, if we talk about diseases, then it comes without saying, whose treatment has become very expensive. Especially for the poor and deprived communities. In view of this problem, the Government of India has taken important steps to make healthcare more accessible. One such initiative is the establishment of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which aims to provide high-quality medicines at affordable prices, let's know the complete details about it.

The Jan Aushadhi initiative was started in 2008, but in 2015 the Narendra Modi government changed it to Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana. In 2016, it was again rebranded as Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Project.

Affordable medicines: The primary goal of Jan Aushadhi Kendras is to provide essential medicines at significantly lower prices. For example, diabetes treatment can cost around ₹3,000 per month, while the required medicines can be obtained at these centers for just ₹10 to ₹15.

Awareness creation: The initiative also aims to educate people about the availability of generic medicines that are both effective and affordable.

Employment opportunities: Apart from providing affordable medicines, the Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana has created many employment opportunities. Entrepreneurs can apply for financial assistance ranging from ₹2 to ₹2.5 lahks to open their centres.

Incentives for entrepreneurs: To encourage the setting up of these centres, the government offers a profit margin of 20% on every medicine sold, as well as an additional 10% incentive at the end of the financial year.
