The original death toll was five, but it subsequently increased to six, according to Bulandshahr District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh. The dead were named as Aas Mohammed (26), Tamanna (24), Salman (16), Hivja (3), Riyazuddin (50), and his wife Rukhsana (45).

The front part of the home collapsed as a consequence of the explosion, which happened between 8:30 and 9:00 PM. Riyazuddin’s wife had just returned from treatment and needed post-hospital care; thus, the cylinder had been carried to the home.

Members of the fire department, police, local government, and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) quickly started rescue efforts. Dhruva Kant Thakur, the Additional Director General of Police, Meerut Zone, said that as soon as the casualties were reported, relief operations were started. The rubble was removed using an excavator and gas cutters.
