Nikita Porwal has won the crown of Femina Miss India World. Many times in our country beauty is linked to color. Due to this trend of 'being fair' i.e. looking beautiful, many fairness creams have created a big market in India. But gradually this thinking is changing. Whenever people watch beauty pageants, they make an assumption that only fair looking people are put forward, but is beauty really determined by color? When asked this question, Nikita Porwal, who became Miss India World 2024, has given a very interesting answer.

Nikita said, “It is completely wrong that white people are promoted in beauty pageants. I am not fair myself. My own complexion is quite dark, it can be called desi Indian complexion and I like my complexion very much. If we also talk about international modeling agencies, then the value given to brown skin tone here is very high. However, I do not believe at all that anyone should be judged by color or anything superficial.”

We don't decide our color

Nikita further said, “We do not decide what our complexion will be, it is not even in our hands, hence it cannot be a parameter to decide beauty and if you have seen the last few beauty pageants then you will know that “In Femina, only people’s talent is considered, not their colour.” Although Nikita She believes that these beauty pageants have some significance regarding the height of the girls. Talking about this, Nikita said, “I believe that some parameters have been fixed here regarding height and they are absolutely correct according to the average Indian height.”

The parameter is set regarding height

Nikita further said, “To participate in this pageant, your height should be at least 5 feet 3 inches, which is not very much. Many girls can participate in this contest. Height is the only parameter which can probably stop girls from participating, but no other parameter can stop you from participating in a pageant like Miss India. What your color is, it doesn't matter at all here."
