A tussle was witnessed over satellite broadband spectrum between Starlink CEO Elon Musk and Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio over allocation issue in the past few days. However The government clarified that the allocation of spectrum would be done administratively not via auction. Elon Musk appreciated the Centre’s decision.  Now Musk has moved a step forward. A company in New Zealand scripted history with the help of Starlink while successfully testing satellite to mobile service. Elon Musk’s Starlink played an important role as its satellite was used in the test.  An SMS was sent and received in Christchurch through satellite marking a successful process that supports Elon Musks claims. The Starlink CEO has been requesting spectrum from the government stating that testing will begin during the Christmas holidays and will soon be completed. The New Zealand-based company-ONE NZ NETWORK- termed the success as ‘historic’. The company said it is doing complete preparations for launch. It said it is a positive sign for them on the ground network and it would help them in enhancing their business and productivity. Nearly 230 Starlink satellites are usually in orbit and the company is working on others.
