New Delhi: Gujarat Titans will be without Gary Kirsten in IPL 2025 as the former mentor has joined Pakistans white-ball teams as head coach after leaving the franchise following IPL 2024 creating a significant gap in GTs coaching staff that has reportedly been filled with a new appointment. The Times of India has reported that Gujarat Titans have appointed Parthiv Patel as Gary Kirstens replacement with Patel set to take over as the franchises batting mentor. The former opener who played for six teams during his 13-year IPL career was a regular in the league for over a decade notably representing Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. After retiring from cricket he transitioned to a scouting role with the Mumbai franchise. They reached the final again in 2023 but were defeated by the Chennai Super Kings. The Gujarat Titans (GT) faced a significant setback before IPL 2024 when Hardik Pandya departed for the Mumbai Indians through a trade leading the franchise to appoint Shubman Gill as captain. Unfortunately GT struggled throughout the season securing only 5 wins from 14 matches and finishing in 8th place on the points table. With Mohammed Shami sidelined due to injury for the entire season the Titans will aim to rebound and replicate their successful debut in IPL 2022 with Shubman expected to continue at the helm.
