Free online updates till October 2024

To make the process easier and more accessible, UIDAI is providing free online update facility through myAadhaar portal till October 2024. It allows users to update their details without any charge. Therefore, if any of your information is not correct or updated, then this is a good opportunity.

Name can be changed only 2 times

You can get many updates done on Aadhaar for free. But, when it comes to name change, there are some limitations. Name can be updated on Aadhaar card only twice in a lifetime. For any name change, you will also have to inform the local UIDAI office. Apart from this, you will also have to submit valid documents.

There is no limitation on address update

Apart from updating the name, you can update the address anytime and any number of times. There is no limitation for this. Users can update their address unlimited times through the UIDAI Self-Service Portal (ssup.uidai.gov.in).

UIDAI processes Aadhaar card updates quickly. About 90 percent of requests are completed within 30 days. If your process is not completed within 90 days, you can contact UIDAI by calling 1947.
