But Yash has put brakes on these rumors also. For the first time, he broke his silence on 'Ramayana' and said that he is playing the role of Ravana in 'Ramayana'.
Yash first came to know about this film from Namit Malhotra, who runs a production company named DNEG and Prime Focus. In an interview given to Hollywood Reporter, Yash has told that he had expressed his desire to play the role of Ravana in 'Ramayana'.
Yash said, “The character is treated like a character…If this does not happen in today's time, then the film will not be possible. If you want to make a big budget film, then you need actors who can carry the project along. This is beyond you and your stardom. We have to keep the project and its vision ahead of everything else.”
Yash also talked about his character of Ravana in 'Ramayana'. He told, “This is a very good character. I wouldn't have done it for any other reason. If you ask me that you want to play some other character in Ramayana? I might refuse. It is very exciting for me as an actor to play the character of Ravana. I love the nuances and shades of that character. There is a lot of scope to play this character in different ways. As an actor I am excited, I think there will be some unique approach.”
However, 'Ramayana' is planned to be made in three parts. It is being said that 'Ramayana' will be in the first two parts. After this the third part will focus only on the character of Hanuman. Sunny Deol will play the role of Hanuman in this. Let's see what happens next.
