New rules of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) have come into effect from October 1, 2024. Telecom companies are resorting to AI and advanced technology to curb fake and spam calls. To a large extent, spam calls were curbed after the implementation of the new rules, but scammers have now found new ways to make spam calls.

Which also includes internet calls. These people are trapping innocent people in fraud in some way or the other. There are some numbers from which you should block them immediately when you get a call.

Scam through internet call

According to the Thailand Telecom Authority, internet calls usually start with numbers from +697 and +698. Such calls are made with the aim of cheating people. Such calls are difficult to track, which is why scammers often use them to deceive people. They hide their location using a Virtual Private Network (VPN), which makes it even more difficult to track them.

Block immediately

If you receive calls from numbers like +697 and +698, it is better to block them immediately. These people try their best to trap common users with their marketing strategies and are looking for personal details. Once they get personal details, they start showing their true colors.

Do not share personal details.

If you accidentally pick up one of these calls, do not share personal information even by mistake. Scammers can pretend to be from a government agency, bank, or other organization. If they ask for information, ask them for a callback number and say that you will call them back yourself. If they are refusing to do so, then understand that this is an attempt to trap you.

For your safety, you must keep reading about new technology. Because scammers always find some way or the other to dupe people. That is why it is important that you do not fill in details like your mobile number and email ID anywhere.
