If not Mohammed Shami then who? The veteran gave a reply to Team India even before the Australia tour

The second match of the Test series between India and New Zealand is starting from Thursday 24 October. As much as there is wait for this test match, there is an equal wait for it to end. This is because after the second test match, BCCI can announce the Indian team for the tour of Australia. Team India's announcement is also keeping an eye on whether star fast bowler Mohammed Shami will be fit for this tour? Shami has been out of cricket action for the last one year and there is doubt about the Australia tour. In such a situation, there is curiosity in everyone's mind as to who will get the chance in his place. In this matter, former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has answered this question being raised before Team India and his answer is - Mayank Yadav.

Mohammed Shami has been out of Team India for the last one year. Shami suffered an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup last year. Then, at the beginning of this year, Shami had undergone ankle surgery, after which he has been working on fitness. He was to return from the Test series against New Zealand but suddenly his left knee got swollen and hence he could not return to the field again. However, recently he has started bowling again, where he was not seen in any kind of problem.

Why take Mayank Yadav to Australia?

Despite this, until Shami is completely fit, there will be doubts about his play. Team India will surely miss the lack of his experience but many contenders are also in line to compensate. Akash Deep's name is at the forefront in this but former Australian pacer Brett Lee believes that Team India should bet on young pacer Mayank Yadav, who surprised everyone with his stormy pace in the IPL. Brett Lee said that if Shami is not fit then Mayank Yadav should at least get a place in the Indian squad.

Former veteran pacer believes that Mayank can do wonders on Australian pitches. Mayank Yadav troubled the batsmen by continuously bowling at a speed of more than 150 kilometers per hour in IPL 2024. Keeping this specialty in mind, Brett Lee also described Mayank as a 'complete package' and also said that no batsman in the world wants to face balls with a speed of more than 150 kmph continuously.

Questions on Mayank's finesse and experience

The 5 test match series between India and Australia will start from 22nd November. The first match of the series will be held in Perth, where the world's fastest pitch is available. In such a situation, if Team India fields Mayank along with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj, then the Australian batsmen can be put in trouble. However, is Mayank fully prepared for Test cricket? The selection committee would definitely like to pay attention to this before taking any decision. Mayank has played only 1 first class match in his short career and in that too he was out due to injury. At present, he is present as a reserve with Team India in the New Zealand series. In such a situation, he can prepare himself by bowling as much as possible here.
