Pune: Ahead of the Diwali festival, the Pune city traffic police have announced traffic diversions effective until November 5 to ensure smooth vehicular movement. During the festival, a heavy footfall in Pune's central market is anticipated.

Traffic Diversions - 1) Shivajinagar to Shivaji Road: Vehicles traveling from Shivajinagar towards Shivaji Road will be redirected from SG Barve Chowk along Jangali Maharaj Road and Tilak Chowk. 2) Swargate to Shivajinagar: Vehicles traveling from Swargate towards Shivajinagar via Puram Chowk must turn left at Puram Chowk and continue to their destinations via Tilak Road and SP College Alka Chowk. 3) Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk: Vehicles traveling from Appa Balwant Chowk towards Budhwar Chowk will be redirected as necessary, primarily diverted to Bajirao Road. 4) Phutka Buruj to Jogeshwari Chowk: Vehicles traveling from Phutka Buruj towards Jogeshwari Chowk will be rerouted as needed, with an alternative route via Shivaji Road. 5) Shanipar Chowk and Kumthekar Road to Mandai: Vehicles traveling from Shanipar Chowk and Kumthekar Road towards Mandai will be redirected and permitted to continue straight on Bajirao Road. Parking Arrangements - In light of the Diwali festival, the Pune traffic police urged the residents to park their vehicles in designated areas, including Babu Genu Parking, Misal Parking, Hamalwada Parking, and Sane Vehicle Parking when visiting market areas along Bajirao Road, Shivaji Road, Laxmi Road, Kumthekar Road, Kelkar Road, and Mandai. The traffic police also advised residents to adhere to the revised rules and parking instructions to ensure a smooth Diwali celebration.
