Drug trade is flourishing in Punjab. Now not only criminals but even honorable people are trying their hand in this. Big news has come out from Firozpur district. Here, former Firozpur Rural MLA Satkar Kaur and her driver Virendra Kumar were arrested by Punjab Police for drug smuggling. On the spot, 100 grams of heroin was recovered from them, while 28 grams of poppy seeds and drug money worth Rs 1 lakh 56 thousand were recovered from the house.

It is being told that during the raid, the driver of former MLA Satkar Kaur tried to run away by hitting a policeman. However, the policeman caught the accused driver. IG Sukhchain Singh Gill gave this information in a press conference. He told that the police investigation is still going on. A case has been registered against the accused in the Mohali police station of Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Punjab Police. Many big revelations are expected in the investigation.

This is how the police reached the former MLA

IG Sukhchain Singh Gill said that a drug addict was found from our SHO in Mohali. He informed the SHO that he was being forced to sell drugs. He gave some numbers to the SHO. On checking the number, it was found that this number belonged to Satkar Kaur, former MLA of Firozpur Rural. He had also given some call recordings, from which it seemed that there was talk of buying and selling of drugs.

IG Sukhchain Singh Gill said that we activated our source. The source made a drug related deal with former MLA Satkar Kaur. Former MLA Satkar Kaur herself came to make the deal, but seeing our team here the former MLA tried to drive away the car. An officer got injured in this. 100 grams of drug was recovered from the spot.

Cash was found in a packet from home

After arresting former MLA Satkar Kaur, police searched her house in Kharar Sunny Enclave. Police recovered 28 grams of powdered poppy from there.
