Bharti Airtel said that since it went live almost a month ago, its new AI-powered detection system has found 154 million possible spam calls and 8 million spam SMS texts in West Bengal. The big telecom company said that the service is free in the area and that users don’t need to ask for it or download an app.

This AI-powered answer was created by Airtel’s own data scientists and uses a secret formula to label calls and SMS texts as “suspected spam.” Even though there are apps from antivirus and digital security companies that can find and stop spam and fake calls and messages, Airtel’s answer works on its own and doesn’t require any other downloads.

“As connectivity grows, customers are more likely to come across scams, fraud, and harmful communications.” To protect against these online dangers, we created an AI-based system that can automatically identify calls and texts that might be spam. Ayan Sarkar, CEO of Bharti Airtel (West Bengal and Orissa), said.

An expert says that blocking spam at the network level is a new service that telecom companies can offer that will add value because it helps them keep customers.
