Underworld don Lawrence Bishnoi has been offered to contest the Maharashtra assembly elections by the Uttar Bharatiya Vikas Sena. The party president described Bishnoi as like Bhagat Singh and said that a list of 50 candidates will be released.
Mumbai: Uttar Bharatiya Vikas Sena (UBVS) has offered underworld criminal Lawrence Bishnoi a seat in the Maharashtra elections. The party's national president Sunil Shukla has written a letter to Bishnoi, who is lodged in Sabarmati jail in Gujarat. In the letter, Bishnoi has been described as like Bhagat Singh.
Lawrence Bishnoi, who was in the news due to the death threat to Bollywood star Salman Khan and the Baba Siddiqui murder case, is currently lodged in Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Central Jail. The names of four candidates contesting the Maharashtra elections have been finalized. Sunil Shukla said that if Lawrence Bishnoi's permission is granted, a list of 50 people will be released soon.
"We see Bhagat Singh in you. Your ancestors are North Indians, so people of OBC, SC, ST category born and brought up in Maharashtra do not get reservation in five North Indian states like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand. If India is a country then why don't we get this right? You should be proud that you are a North Indian born in Punjab." - Sunil Shukla has said this in a letter to Lawrence Bishnoi.
The party has proposed Bishnoi to contest the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The letter also states that the workers and officials of the North Indian Vikas Sena will ensure Lawrence Bishnoi's victory. The letter ends by saying that your consent is awaited.
