According to Indian actor Karan Jotwani, the PWR DUPR India Masters is a celebration of pickleball since it attracts so many people from all over the globe. Jotwani is in New Delhi for the PWR700 event, which began on Thursday and will continue until Sunday, October 27, with more than 700 people taking part.

Following the successful inauguration of the PWR World Tour in July 2024 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) will completely own and run the PWR DUPR India Masters, the first pickleball tournament in India.

Leading international players, including Dustin Boyer and Phuc Huynh from the United States, Roos Van Reek from the Netherlands, Mitch Hargreaves and Emilia Schmidt from Australia, Pei Chuan Kao from Chinese Taipei, and top Indian players like Armaan Bhatia and Aditya Ruhela, are among the competitors.

“I have some experience with racquet sports. I was first attracted to pickleball last year after seeing a few pickleball players in my Mumbai gymkhana. I used to play tennis. When asked how he was first exposed to racquet sports, Jotwani told Pickleball Now, “Anything related to racquet sports, whether it be table tennis, badminton, pickleball, padel, or even tennis, is very close to my heart.”

“I can’t compete with these guys who are 20 and 18 because I’m 34 now, but their energy and passion are tremendous.” It’s fantastic that so many people from all around the globe have come to New Delhi for a competition like this. Although I don’t believe the sport has a large following in India now, Jotwani said, “people would enjoy it since it’s really fun.

The actor also discussed how baseball has drawn players of various ages.

“It definitely applies to all age groups. For everybody, it’s a good sport. The pad utilizes a plastic ball and is lightweight. Unless you want to become a professional, you don’t need to be flawless. “Just enjoy yourself,” Jotwani replied.
