Hardly anyone can forget his Sydney and Gabba innings in Australia. He has played many good innings in India itself, out of which the double century against Australia in Ranchi in 2017 and the double century against England in Ahmedabad in 2012 were very important. It was because of his innings that India was able to draw in those matches whereas India got victory in the Gabba Test match. He has helped his team win matches by batting for long periods in domestic cricket.

In this article, we will know about one such innings of Pujara in which Pujara showed his patience and courage. He faced 461 balls. Actually this match was played between Tamil Nadu and Saurashtra in the year 2013. In which Saurashtra won the toss and chose to bat first.

Saurashtra's opening batsmen were dismissed cheaply. After which Pujara took charge and along with captain Jaydev Shah, he defeated the Tamil Nadu bowlers. Pujara showed in this innings why it is so difficult to get him out after being set.

Pujara made marathon partnership

Pujara made a partnership of 353 runs with Jaydev for the fourth wicket. At one time it seemed that the Saurashtra team would be limited to within 200 runs but Pujara took that score much further and Saurashtra declared the innings at 581 runs. Pujara scored 269 runs in 461 balls. Which included 33 fours.

Abhinav also scored more double centuries

Abhinav Mukund and Dinesh Karthik also scored centuries from Tamil Nadu side. Abhinav played a marathon inning of 240 runs while Karthik scored 133 runs. Tamil Nadu also declared the innings after scoring 565 runs and the match ended in a draw.
