There is a village in Bhagalpur district of Bihar where poisonous snakes are being seen every day. Russell Viper snake is counted among the five most poisonous snakes of Asia. There is a stir due to the discovery of Russell Viper snake in Bhagalpur. There is an atmosphere of fear among the people, people are not coming out of their houses due to fear. As soon as it is evening, people confine their children at home. Every day a poisonous snake is seen in someone's house or street due to which people are scared.
Russell's Viper is one of the five most poisonous snakes in Asia, but this snake is being seen continuously in Bhagalpur district. Mirachak village on the banks of Ganga in the district is becoming a village of poisonous snakes. Russell Viper snakes are being found one after the other in Mirachak village of Sabour block. Due to this, there is an atmosphere of panic among the people; in the evening, people lock their children in their homes. The situation is such that Russell's Viper can be seen in any house on any street at any time. When people hear the hissing sound of a pressure cooker in homes, they understand that it is a Russell's Viper.
Stocks of Russell snakes are found in many areas adjacent to Ganga, but Mirachak village has become its hotspot. In this village, one person has died due to Russell's bite. Recently, when Rural Prakash Mandal was bitten by Russell, he reached the hospital holding the snake by its neck. On Wednesday, when village teacher Deepak was taking a coaching class, a Russell Viper snake was seen outside the class, after which, taking the risk, he caught the Russell Viper himself and kept it in a box. After that it was handed over to the Forest Department.
This snake is so dangerous that a person can die within a few minutes of its bite. This snake is said to be more poisonous than the King Cobra. People are risking their lives to rescue it, sometimes people mistake it for a python which becomes fatal. Russell's mouth is triangular and there are brown spots on the body. This snake remains sluggish and jumps and bites as soon as it senses danger.
A villager told that a week ago Prakash Mandal of Mirachak was bitten by a Russell Viper, after which he himself caught the snake and took it to the hospital, which created panic among other people. However, he immediately got anti-venom which saved his life. Barari Panchayat head Jaikaran Paswan says that people were worried due to the flood, now along with the local snakes, a new species of Russell's Viper snake is being found continuously. Recently 10 to 12 snakes have been found. When information about this is received, we inform the forest department. The team takes it, but yesterday also when a snake was found in the village, the teacher himself caught it and did the rescue. Now the forest department needs to set up a camp and search here.
