revealed that his co-star will be taking a brief hiatus from her hosting duties.

During Thursday's visit (October 24) to the studios, the brunette beauty woke up the nation alongside her co-host Richard Madeley.

The dynamic duo discussed some of the biggest stories hitting the headlines which included the upcoming ban for disposable vapes in 2025 and the launch of the Royal British Legion's annual Poppy Appeal.

Towards the end of the show, the pair welcomed the 54-year-old entertainment presenter onto the show to spill the latest news in the world of showbiz.

But as he began his segment, he explained that the mum-of-three would be taking a break from the studio to enjoy some well-deserved downtime with her family.

Richard asked: "Alright Dickie, tell us, what have you got?" as the broadcaster teased: "Oh a bit of Tom Hardy which is no bad news as I send you off which is why I'm on at the end of the show to make sure you actually leave."

Susanna immediately burst into laughter at her co-star's cheek comment before he continued on with his Hollywood segment.

It is currently unknown who will replace Susanna on the breakfast show during her family getaway. Elsewhere on GMB, Richard Madeley slammed Labour over their controversial early prison release scheme.

On Wednesday (October 23), more than 1,000 convicts were released from jails up and down the country in an attempt to alleviate the overcrowding crisis in the UK.

The presenters welcomed abuse victim Elizabeth Hudson onto the show to share her struggles with the new scheme.

The activist's ex-husband Martin Underwood was given a sentence of six years after he beat and injured her and held a knife to her face. He also abused several of his former partners before he was put behind bars.

Earlier this week, she was told that her abusive ex-husband could be eligble for early release in December as part of the new scheme. Thankfully, this decision was overruled but warned that he could be released in June.

Richard suggested that "the minister doesn't understand her own policy" as he quizzed Elizabeth on the change to Martin's release date. The controversial scheme sparked debate on X - formerly known as Twitter - as fans shared their opinions online.

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays from 6am on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
