In a disturbing incident, a teacher allegedly subjected a student to physical abuse at a government school in Kannauj. The incident occurred when the teacher, identified as Sant Raj, reportedly got enraged after the child engaged in playful mischief.
The teacher allegedly confined the child to a room and struck him repeatedly with a plastic pipe, leaving visible marks and scars on his body, particularly on his lower back.
The injured child, identified as Gopal, a student studying in Class 3 at Aurai Primary School in the Talgram area, managed to return home and inform his mother, Dhan Devi, about the ordeal.
After he got to know about the alleged assault, Dhan Devi immediately went to the school to complain about the teacher to the school authorities. However, her concerns were reportedly dismissed, and she was allegedly pressured to drop the matter.
Determined to seek justice for her son, Dhan Devi reached out to higher authorities. The Basic Education Officer, Sandeep Kumar said that he has received the complaint and expressed serious concern over the allegations.
Kumar instructed the Chhibramau Block Education Officer to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. He emphasized that swift and decisive action would be taken against any individual found guilty of harming any child.
“The matter of the alleged beating of a child has come to our attention,” Basic Education Officer Sandeep Kumar said in an interview with News18 over the phone.
“Given the seriousness of the allegations, we have directed the Chhibramau BEO to immediately visit the school, conduct a comprehensive investigation, and take appropriate action. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of child abuse, and anyone found guilty will face severe consequences,” Kumar said.
The victim, Gopal, recounted his experience and said, “The master took me to a room and beat me up with a pipe. I had made a small mistake, but he beat me severely, causing me a lot of pain.”
