Dates tamarind chutney is a delicious and nutritious chutney that can be eaten with chaat, samosas, burgers, or dahi bhalla.
1 cup dates
1 cup tamarind
2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
1 teaspoon black pepper powder
2 teaspoons red chili powder
1 teaspoon ginger powder
Soak the tamarind in a cup of hot water for 15-20 minutes so that it becomes soft.
Take out the pulp of soaked tamarind and put it in a vessel. Add dates and a cup of water in it.
Boil this mixture on medium flame. When the dates become soft and the mixture becomes thick, turn off the gas.
Let the mixture cool and then put it in a blender and grind it well.
If the chutney is very thick, you can grind it by adding some water.
Put the ground chutney in a vessel and add sugar, salt, roasted cumin powder, black pepper powder, red chilli powder and ginger powder.
Now mix these ingredients well. If you like spiciness, you can also add chopped green chillies. The prepared chutney can be filled in a jar and kept in the refrigerator.
