You must have heard many stories of teams getting bowled out for low scores in cricket. You must have seen this live in many matches. In the match we are going to talk about, the team was all out for 53 runs. Now, teams have been all out for scores less than 53 runs. But, the twist in the story here is that this has happened to a team that scored 52 runs for 2 wickets. An ODI match was being played between Tasmania and Western Australia in Australia's domestic cricket. In this match, Western Australia's team could not score more than 53 runs despite scoring 52 runs for 2 wickets. What happened to its 8 batsmen in the live match?

Batting first in the match against Tasmania, Western Australia had scored 52 runs on the scoreboard after losing 2 wickets. But, what happened after that, believe me, has hardly happened to any team in cricket before. You start expecting a challenging total from a team playing after scoring 52 runs on 2 wickets. But, what happened here with the 8 batsmen of Western Australia, after that their innings ended at 53 runs only. Meaning, the next 8 batsmen could not add more than 1 run to the scoreboard.

Now the question is what happened to the remaining 8 batsmen that Western Australia's score stopped at 53 runs. So what happened was that out of the remaining 8 batsmen, only one could score 1 run. While the condition of the remaining 7 batsmen was so bad that they could not even open their accounts. The two bowlers of Tasmania who created havoc with the ball were responsible for the bad condition of the 8 batsmen of Western Australia. One of them was Billy Stanlake and the other was Beau Webster.

Right-arm fast bowler Webster dismissed 6 batsmen for 17 runs in 6 overs in the match. The other fast bowler Stanlake took 3 wickets for 12 runs in 7.1 overs. These Tasmanian bowlers together took the remaining 8 wickets of Western Australia in just 38 balls and gave only 1 run during this. Due to this havoc created by the Tasmanian bowlers, Western Australia went from 52/2 to 53/10.

Tasmania chased the target of 54 runs given by Western Australia in just 8.3 overs i.e. 51 balls. However, Tasmania also lost 3 wickets in scoring so many runs, which shows that the pitch was also very helpful for the bowlers. But, it cannot be denied that the batsmen of Western Australia batted poorly, otherwise which team's 8 batsmen got out after scoring 1 run?
