Fake Medicine Alert: Often we resort to painkillers for some disease or the other. Recently a shocking report of the Central Drugs Regulatory Authority (CDSCO) has come out. According to this, now samples of four medicines including calcium supplement Shelcal 500 and Pan D have failed in the quality check. If you use it then you need to be cautious otherwise it can cause huge loss.

Know which medicines are fake

According to the report of the Central Drugs Regulatory Authority (CDSCO), samples of four medicines including calcium supplement Shelcal 500 and Pan D have been found not to be of standard quality and the quality of these medicines has been considered substandard. It is being told that in its monthly drug alert report for September, among the samples of 49 medicines, Paracetamol, Pan D, Calcium and Vitamin D-3 have been declared fake. Whereas oxytocin, metronidazole and fluconazole have been kept in the 'deficient quality' list.

Let us tell you that the medicines in which defects have been found are from companies like Alkem Health Science, Aristo Pharmaceuticals, Camila Pharmaceuticals, Innova Captain, Hindustan Antibiotics and Ipca Laboratories.

CDSCO spoke on the quality of medicines

Regarding the fake medicines being found here, Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) Rajiv Singh Raghuvanshi said in his information that timely inspection is done to reduce the percentage of medicines having less effect. He said that vigilant action and monitoring of drugs by CDSCO (Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation) drastically reduces the percentage of drugs with low efficacy. Of these, there were 49 medicines which were found to be fake and their quality was not up to one level.

Out of approximately three thousand samples tested, 49 medicines were asked to be withdrawn as they were found not as per the standard (NSQ). Out of the total samples, only 1.5 percent of the medicines were found to be less effective. There are more than 50 medicines in which paracetamol, Pand D, calcium medicines are found to reduce clavility.
