According to AFP, which cited US authorities on Friday, Mike Jeffries, the former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, has rejected allegations of trafficking male models for international sex parties. On Tuesday, the former CEO of the massive fashion company was taken into custody. He entered a not guilty plea when he was brought before the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Jeffries will remain under house arrest until the start of his legal proceedings after signing a $10 million bail bond.

A “casting couch” strategy was reportedly used by Jeffries, Smith, and their partner James Jacobson to get prospective male models to attend sex parties where they were given drugs and alcohol.

The former CEO has also been barred from contacting his co-accused, witnesses, or victims, according to court sources that the news agency quoted. Judge Nusrat Choudhury will next hear the case on December 12.

The indictment claims that Jeffries, Smith, and Jacobson operated a prostitution network from December 2008 to March 2015, taking advantage of men by pressure, deception, and force. All three were arrested by authorities on Tuesday.

An X post by US Attorney EDNY said, “Defendants Allegedly Arranged for Dozens of Men to Travel to New York and Hotels Around the World for Sex Events: Former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch and Two Other Individuals Charged with Sex Trafficking and Interstate Prostitution.”

Smith was the life partner of Jeffries, who served as CEO of the international fashion company Abercrombie from 1992 until 2014. According to the indictment, Jacobson was hired by Jeffries and Smith to find, screen, and hire individuals for the couple’s commercial sex acts.

Abercrombie & Fitch had previously said that the company has “zero tolerance for abuse, harassment, or discrimination of any kind” and was “appalled and disgusted” by the claims of Jeffries’ actions.
