In a startling case in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, a young guy decided to commit internet fraud in order to satisfy his girlfriend’s desire for Diwali shopping. After taking her to a showroom in Kamla Nagar bazaar, the guy made a number of purchases. He then removed the merchandise after displaying a phony notice requesting that the bill be paid online using a mobile app. According to jagran.com, the accused was detained after a police complaint was filed when the shop owner did not receive the money in her bank account.

The Order of Events

A lawsuit had been filed by Simran from Tej Nagar in Kamla Nagar. She admitted to the police that she has a store in Kamla Nagar market that sells clothing and fake jewelry. A young guy and a young lady visited the store on October 21. The lady purchased jewelry and clothing. The young guy said he would pay online and requested a QR code after packing. He swiftly grabbed the items and departed with the lady after displaying the payment notification on his phone.

No payment was received when the mobile device’s account balance was checked. A complaint was then filed with the police. Inspector Kamla Nagar Nishamak Tyagi, who is in charge, said that the number of the accused’s scooter was discovered after looking through the CCTV footage. Shivam Gehlot, also known as Golu, the accused, resides in Arjun Nagar next to the Kargil Petrol Pump. He was taken into custody, and the scooter, phone, clothing, and fake jewelry used in the crime were found.

A plot to please the girlfriend

Shivam, the accused, admitted to the police that he had become friends with a female from Loha Mandi when he was employed at a financial firm at Sanjay Place. The girl insisted on receiving clothing as a Diwali present. On his phone, the guy had a downloaded app. This program might be used to make a phony payment message by scanning any QR code. When he moved far away, he had defrauded other users of the app for minor sums. He had taken his sweetheart away from home to Kamala Nagar for this reason.
