For the ODI and T20 series against Pakistan, which begins on November 4, 2024, Australia has decided to rest their regular Test-playing players. Players like Travis Head, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Marsh have been rested so they may concentrate on the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which begins after the Pakistan series.

Beginning on November 4, 2024, Australia and Pakistan will play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) before three Twenty20 matches. The first of the five Test matches against India begins on November 22 in Perth, while the Pakistan series comes to an end on November 18.

The selectors have decided to choose a somewhat fresh side for the series against Pakistan without yet choosing a captain since there is less time between the two series. This will guarantee that the regular Test players are healthy and ready for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Glenn Maxwell, Adam Zampa, Matthew Short, Josh Inglis, and Aaron Hardie are among the well-known players on the Australian team for the Pakistan series; however, none of them had ever led Australia in any sport.

But several of the team’s well-known players have led their respective teams as captains in the Big Bash League on a regular basis.

Fast bowlers Nathan Ellis, Spencer Johnson, and Xavier Bartlett are also making a full recovery for the Australian team. Ellis has recovered from a hamstring ailment, while Johnson and Barrett are still recovering from side strains.

The three players who have fully recovered from their injuries are a welcome addition to the Australian cricket squad, according to senior selector George Bailey. The return of Xavier, Spencer, and Nathan to the national lineup is especially heartening. As they have done in the past, it’s another chance for them to demonstrate their skills on the global scene,” he said.

Andre Borovec, who led the team to five Twenty20 international matches against India in December of last year, will coach the Australian squad.

Xavier Bartlett, Cooper Connolly, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Aaron Hardie, Josh Inglis, Spencer Johnson, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Short, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa, and Sean Abbott make up the Australia T20I team.
