The Government of India implements many welfare schemes to benefit its citizens. Recently, a special decision has been taken regarding those ration card holders who have not claimed their ration in the last three months. The government is planning to take action against these individuals, with the aim of directing resources to those who are genuinely in need.

Action for not using ration card for three months

The government wants to extend the benefits of ration card to the real needy. Through ration card, eligible persons can get monthly ration at minimum cost. However, some cardholders have not availed ration card for months. In Himachal Pradesh, for example, ration cards of individuals who have not claimed their provisions in the past three months are now being blocked. Officials believe this shows they no longer need these benefits, allowing resources to be redirected to others.
