The five-day celebration of Deepotsav honors Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. The occasion draws millions of visitors and devotees, showcasing the cultural and spiritual importance of Ayodhya.
The world record effort will be supported by more than 30,000 volunteers spread over 55 Ayodhya ghats. The main celebration will take place in Bhajan Sandhya, Old Ghat, New Ghat, and other locales. Later today, the ceremony is anticipated to be attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Culture and Tourism Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and several other politicians.
To supervise Deepotsav preparations, a 30-person crew from the Guinness Book of World Records came on Tuesday.
“This is the seventh Deepotsav, but it is a little special because it is the first Deepotsav after the Ram Mandir has been built,” Nischal Barot, in charge of the Guinness Book of World Records Team, told ANI. Two Guinness Book of Records will be set this time: the first is that a record-breaking 1100 persons will perform the Saryu Aarti, and the second is the lighting of 25 lakh Diyas.
In addition, this is the day of the Shobha Yatra. Artists from around six nations and sixteen Indian states will participate in the Yatra, which will include eighteen tableaus.
