Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again are set to hit theaters this Friday and advance bookings for both films are now open. Ajay Devgn stands out as one of Bollywood’s superstars whose name alone often guarantees box office success. Alongside him is Salman Khan another industry titan known for delivering numerous blockbuster hits. Directed by Priyadarshan this film featured a star-studded cast including Salman Khan Kareena Kapoor and Rimi Sen in lead roles with supporting performances from legends like Om Puri Jackie Shroff and Asrani. Despite the impressive lineup the movie failed to resonate with audiences. It was actually a remake of the Malayalam film Thalavattam released in 1986 which drew inspiration from the iconic Hollywood film One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. This film couldnt recover its budget Salman Khans film Kyun Ki... hit theaters nationwide on November 3 2005 coinciding with the Diwali festivities. It faced tough competition from Akshay Kumar and John Abrahams Garam Masala both directed by Priyadarshan. While Garam Masala soared to superhit status Kyun Ki... unfortunately flopped. Critics had anticipated its failure even before its release and the numbers confirmed their predictions: made on a budget of Rs 21 crore the film managed to earn only Rs 18 crore at the Indian box office. This film was also a disaster in Diwali After the disappointment of Kyun Ki... Salman Khan tried again with Jaan-e-Mann in 2006 but it faced tough competition from Shah Rukh Khans hit Don and flopped at the box office. Nowadays Salman typically releases his films on Eid where they often perform well. Currently Kartik Aryans Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is gaining traction and has outperformed Ajay Devgns Singham Again in advance bookings. Despite having fewer screens Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is drawing more audience interest. Film critic KRK shared advance booking figures showing that Singham Again has 11300 shows booked with ticket sales of Rs 7.46 crore. Meanwhile Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has 8344 shows booked and sales of Rs 8.58 crore putting it ahead by nearly Rs 1 crore. If Singham Again doesn’t catch up both films may open with similar numbers—a notable achievement for Kartik Aryan as he competes against several major stars.
