IGNOU Admission 2024: There is an opportunity to do PhD from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The university has invited applications for PhD program. For this, registration has to be done by visiting the official website ignouadm.samarth.edu.in. The official notification states that these programs are being offered in compliance with the University Grants Commission Regulations, 2022, which are amended from time to time. The last date to apply for admission in PhD is 20 November.

The application fee for doing PhD from IGNOU is Rs 1000. According to the notification, this fee is non-refundable. Meaning it will not be refunded. According to the notification, after applying, the candidates will not be able to change their category.

- Passport size photograph not less than 100 KB in size
- Scanned signature less than 100 KB in size
- Date of birth certificate, mark sheet, degree certificate, income certificate, disability certificate (if availing disability category benefit), UGC NET JRF certificate/UGC NET score card, etc.

Selection process for admission to PhD
UGC NET JRF passed candidates will be admitted to PhD through interview. Whereas in category-2 and category-3, a combined merit list of candidates with valid UGC NET scores will be prepared. Those whose names appear on the merit list will be called for an interview. In the final selection, 70% weightage will be given to the UGC NET score and 30% to the score obtained in the interview.
