House caught fire due to spark of sparkler in Bengal's Uluberia, 3 innocent died

Three innocent people lost their lives when their house caught fire due to the spark of a sparkler on Friday night on the occasion of Kali Puja in Uluberia in Howrah district of West Bengal. The deceased include Tania Mistry (11), Ishan Dhara (3) and Mumtaz Khatoon (5). Two people including Manisha Khatun have been seriously injured in the accident. He is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

dThe incident took place in Banitala of Ward No. 27 of Uluberia Municipality on Friday night. On receiving the information, police and fire brigade personnel of Uluberia police station went to the spot.

According to local sources, the incident took place near Uluberia flyover in Banitala. In the house of local resident Kajal Mistry, some children were lighting sparklers inside the house. At the same time, the spark of the sparkler fell on something and the house caught fire.

Children could not come out of the house fire

Those three children could not come out of the house. Meanwhile after the fireNeighbors took buckets from the house and started pouring water. But it was not possible to control the fire. The fire started spreading. By the time the firefighters brought the fire under control, everything was over.

They were taken to the hospital in critical condition, doctors declared all three children dead. Two are undergoing treatment in Uluberia Medical College in critical condition.

Fire broke out due to firecrackers kept in the house

Local people said that a large quantity of firecrackers were kept in that house, due to which the fire spread rapidly. The fire has also spread to a nearby shop. Police are also investigating why a large quantity of firecrackers were stored in that house.

State Minister Pulak Roy said on the Uluberia incident that 'this is a very sad incident. We are all with the family. A burnt person has been sent to Kolkata for better treatment. Howrah Rural District Superintendent of Police Swati Bengalia said preliminary investigation revealed that three children died of burns while lighting sparklers. The incident will be investigated.
