Raw Banana Chop Masala Recipe

Life Style: Raw banana is very nutritious and is a healthy alternative to potato. This curry is full of flavor and mild spices. This recipe goes well with paratha, chapatti and rice. Its taste is very unique and delicious. When it hits your mouth it's as if an explosion of flavors overwhelms all your senses. This is a dish that can be made for kitty parties, gatherings and pot lucks. It can also be eaten in lunch or dinner because it will be something new and unique. Bananas are known for their rich nutrients and this makes it even more attractive for health conscious people and people in general. 500 grams green raw bananas

2 pieces walnuts

1/2 inch grated ginger

1 tablespoon poppy seeds

1 tsp red chilli powder

1 bay leaf

1 star anise

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1 tbsp lightly crushed cashews

1 chopped onion

5 garlic cloves

1/2 tbsp turmeric

1 tsp coriander powder

2 green cardamoms

2 tbsp curd

salt as per taste

Step 1 Cut the banana and make a paste

Peel the raw banana and cut it into long pieces like chop and keep aside. Take chopped onion, ginger, garlic, roasted poppy seeds, cashew nuts and walnuts in a mixer jar and grind them finely. Keep the fine paste aside.

Step 2 Fry the Banana Chops

Heat oil in a pan and fry the banana chops until they turn golden brown. Take out the banana chops in a plate and keep aside. In the same oil, add ground spices along with bay leaves, cardamom and star anise. Fry the spices for 2 minutes. Fry for a minute.

Step 3 Add some spices and stir well

Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder and mix well. When the masala is cooked well, add curd and mix well. Now add salt and stir.

Step 4 Cook for sometime and garnish

Now add fried banana chops to the gravy and let it cook for 4 to 5 minutes. You can also add water if needed to adjust the gravy. Turn off the gas flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Step 5 Serve hot

Raw banana chops are ready to serve with rice or chapati.
