The new version stands out for its distinctive white livery with matt black details, complemented by a bright electronic orange frame, in a clear homage to the classic 990 SUPER DUKE R models, particularly the second generation marketed between 2011 and 2013.
In the mechanical department, the 947 cc engine has received a special tune-up, now delivering 128 horsepower (5 hp more than the base model), while keeping torque at 103 Nm. The rev limit is 10,500 rpm, benefiting from a new engine mapping specially developed for this version.
Premium chassis and components
The Austrian brand has managed to reduce the total weight by 2 kilograms, bringing it to 190 kg in running order. Ergonomics have been revised, resulting in a slightly higher center of gravity, with increases of 15 millimeters in both seat height and ground clearance.
In terms of suspension, the 990 DUKE R features fully adjustable WP APEX components. The front fork, now 48 millimeters in diameter (previously 43 mm), is 34% stiffer and offers 143 millimeters of travel. The rear shock absorber has also been updated, with 140 millimeters of travel.
The braking system has been significantly improved, incorporating Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers and Brembo MCS pump, complemented by larger discs (320 mm). Michelin Power Cup 2 tires are mounted on orange rims, inspired by the KTM 1390 SUPER DUKE R.
State-of-the-art technology
One of the highlights is the new instrument panel with an 8.88-inch TFT touchscreen in horizontal format, which includes inductive technology and split display mode. The electronic equipment also includes a GPS navigation system, customizable riding modes and advanced ABS features, including SPORT and SUPERMOTO+ modes.
The new KTM 990 DUKE R 2025 thus positions itself as a premium proposition in the sports naked segment, combining cutting-edge technology with a distinctly sporty character.
