More than 2 lakh people bought cars from this company in a month

Business Business: October 2024 was a very good month in terms of sales for Maruti Suzuki India Limited. During the festive month, the company also recorded its highest ever monthly export sales. This company recorded sales of 206,434 devices last month. This is also the highest monthly turnover of the company till date. This was an annual increase of 3.62% compared to October 2023 when 1,99,217 units were sold, taking total sales in the domestic market during the period to 1 million 59 thousand 591 units. In comparison, 1,68,047 units were sold in October 2023, down 5.03% year-on-year. However, this was an increase of 10.09% from 144,962 units sold in September 2024.

If we look at the sales categories in October 2024, the demand for Alto and Espresso in the light segment is declining. Sales volume fell to 10,687 units in October 2023 from 14,568 units. Year-on-year, sales of both models have declined from 87,118 units to 74,474 units in 2023-24.

Sales in the compact segment, which includes cars like Baleno, Celerio, Desire and Ignis as well as Swift and Wagon R, are witnessing a decline in demand. Last month, 65,948 units were sold, compared to 80,662 units in October 2023. For April to October 2024, sales were 432,369 units, down from 499,591 units in the same period last year. We have started deploying new Desire agents. The release will be on 11th November.

Ciaz sales in the midsize sedan segment also fell, falling from 695 units in October 2023 to 659 units last month. Year-to-date sales for FY 2024-25 have also declined to 4,800 units compared to 8,136 units in the same period last year. As a result, total passenger car sales fell to 77,294 units in October 2024 and 509,643 units year to date.
