IPL 2025: Before the mega auction of IPL 2025, all the teams have released their retention lists. After which fans and experts are analyzing which player has got less money as per his performance or which player has got more money despite not performing well. There are some players who have received more money than their performance.

Rajasthan retained Dhruv Jurail

This player was not even worth Rs 14 lakh, yet he got a huge amount of Rs 14 crore in IPL 2025 retention.

Dhruv Jurel against Rajasthan Royals is also a name who has got more money in retention. Dhruv has not performed well in the IPL so far due to which a huge amount can be spent on him. Rajasthan has retained Dhruv by paying a huge amount of Rs 14 crores. Whereas due to Dhruv being retained, Rajasthan team was not successful in retaining Jos Buttler.

Butler's leaf cut due to pole

Ever since Jos Buttler has been associated with Rajasthan Royals, he has single-handedly won many matches for the team with his performance. Butler also played an important role in taking Rajasthan to the finals after 14 years, but the Rajasthan team could not retain Butler in order to retain Dhruv Jurail.

The bond between Butler and Rajasthan was also good but a team could retain only a maximum of 6 players, hence the Rajasthan management wanted to retain the Indian core in place of Butler.

Dhruv Jurail played an important role in winning the Ranchi Test against England this year but his performance in the subsequent IPL was not good. Jurail did not get enough chances to bat in most of the matches and when he got the chance, he could not do anything special.

Dhruv's IPL career has been ordinary

If we look at Dhruv's IPL career, he has scored 357 runs in 22 innings of 27 matches at an average of 23 and strike rate of 151. Which includes 2 half-centuries. Whereas in the 2024 IPL, he scored 195 runs in 11 innings of 15 matches at an average of 24 and strike rate of 138.
