Renowned for his roles in Kaithi, Vikram, and the most recent smash, Leo, director Lokesh Kanagaraj is hoping to collaborate with Bollywood great Aamir Khan. Lokesh expressed his appreciation for the Bollywood singer in a recent interview, calling himself a “huge fan” and teasing a possible future collaboration.
Lokesh discussed his career in cinema, his partnerships with South Indian celebrities like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, and his desire to collaborate with Bollywood artists in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. The Leo filmmaker seemed upbeat when asked whether he would soon be collaborating with Aamir Khan, responding, “We’re talking.” He recounted how Aamir contacted him when Laal Singh Chaddha was out, and they went to Chennai to see the movie together. Lokesh gave his opinion on the film and discussed the aspects he found admirable.
Since then, Lokesh and Aamir have made an effort to meet together anytime they are in the same city, whether it is Chennai or Mumbai, to talk about movies and original concepts. The possible partnership may be postponed due to Lokesh’s forthcoming obligations, but he showed sincere desire by stating, “If everything goes well, then why not collaborate on a concept? I would adore it.
In addition to his ambitions to work in Bollywood, Lokesh has been occupied with initiatives in South India. He was asked about a potential Leo sequel with Thalapathy Vijay when he recently went to see the movie Bloody Beggar, which starred Kavin. Because of the film’s cliffhanger ending, fans were eagerly awaiting Leo 2. Lokesh, however, said that only “Vijay Anna” could choose whether or not a sequel should be made, deferring the choice to Vijay himself.
With just two dates remaining to complete shooting, Lokesh is also directing Coolie, which stars Rajinikanth. The anticipation will be increased by the appearance of stalwarts like Upendra Rao and Nagarjuna Akkineni in the film. Fans will have to wait a little while longer to find out when it will be officially released, however.
While the filmmaker continues to weave his magic with the top performers in South Indian cinema, moviegoers can now anticipate the possible Lokesh-Aamir combination.
