Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 came together at the box office this week. Both the films were given almost equal amount of love by the audience and both made good earnings on the first weekend. However, before the release of the film, there was a lot of talk about the clash between Ajay Devgan and Kartik Aryan. It was believed that this clash would cause huge loss to either one or both the films. But despite all efforts the conflict could not be averted.
Before the release it seemed that this conflict could be averted. There were also reports that Kartik Aryan talked to Rohit Shetty to avoid the clash. Now the film's producer Bhushan Kumar himself has revealed the real reason for the clash of the two films. He has spoken openly on the clash in an interview.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungana, Bhushan Kumar said, “Franchises have a lot of value. Both the franchises had great value. Both we and him (Rohit Shetty) knew this. It is not that both of them did not try. Both of us tried to avoid any clash, but we both had compulsions and hence could not avoid the clash.”
Bhushan Kumar said during this time that these days there are some compulsions. You already have an agreement with the OTT platform. He said that the OTT platform does not approve of such changes. He said that this was our compulsion. Bhushan Kumar said, “They (the makers of Singham Again) might also have had that type of compulsion. But he also had creative compulsions. The theme of the film was on Ramayana. That's why he wanted to release on Diwali."
Bhushan Kumar said that he also had no choice and we also had no choice. However, we met and discussed that somehow this clash should be avoided. But due to these compulsions this was not possible. But I am happy that Singham Again is also doing well and our film is also doing well. However, he definitely said that the loss caused by the clash will have to be borne. This situation could not be avoided. We have come to this situation after thinking carefully.
