The Tulsi plant holds great importance in Vastu Shastra. If it is kept correctly in the house keeping in mind some main things, then it is believed that it brings the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. However, some plants should not be kept near the Tulsi plant, as they can give adverse results. Here are some guidelines for planting Tulsi and keeping it around it correctly.

Plants not to be kept near Tulsi

Do not keep Shami plant nearby

According to Vastu, never plant a Shami tree near Tulsi, as it can cause financial problems in the house. If you have both the plants, ensure a distance of at least 4 to 5 feet between them to avoid possible negative effects.

Don't place cactus near Tulsi
Cactus has become the trendy plant to plant indoors nowadays, but according to Vastu, thorny plants like cactus should not be kept near Tulsi, as they are associated with the planet Ketu and can bring adversity. Cactus should neither be kept inside the house nor near Tulsi.

Avoid plants with milky sap
According to Vastu, plants with milky sap should also be kept away from Tulsi. Such plants can increase negativity in the house, leading to discord in the family.

Ideal place for Tulsi
For optimum Vastu alignment, place the Tulsi plant in the north-east corner of your house (known as Ishaan Kon), which is considered an auspicious place. Choose a place where the plant gets enough sunlight, as placing Tulsi in a dark area can lead to adverse results instead of positive blessings.
