As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, Kirti Vardhan Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs, planted a mango seedling at the High Commission of India in Lusaka.
Singh said on Tuesday that the ad emphasizes our shared need to protect the environment.
Singh said on X: “As part of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ program, we planted a mango seedling at the High Commission of India in Lusaka. The ad emphasizes our shared responsibility for protecting the environment and keeps inspiring action.
On Tuesday, Singh had a meeting with Mulambo Haimbe, Zambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The Zambian Foreign Ministry wrote on X, “Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest and Climate Change of the Republic of India, at Charter House in Lusaka.”
“Shri Singh is in Zambia to attend the 6th Session of the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation between the Republic of Zambia and the Republic of India, which will be held on 6th November, 2024, at Mulungushi International Conference Centre, Kenneth Kaunda Wing in Lusaka,” said the post.
“The ministers highlighted the various areas of cooperation between Zambia and India and underscored the need to enhance collaboration in sectors such as technology, agriculture and energy,” said the statement.
Singh was present at the India-Zambia Business Round Table with Zambia’s Minister of Agriculture Reuben Mtolo Phiri and Minister of SME Development Elias Mubanga.
It was a pleasure to attend the India-Zambia Business Round Table with Zambia’s Minister of Agriculture, HE Mr. Reuben Mtolo Phiri, and Minister of SME Development, HE Mr. Elias Mubanga, and speak to the corporate executives on both sides. In a post on X, Singh emphasized their contribution to trade and investment links between Zambia and India in order to strengthen our economic partnership.
Singh is on an official four-day visit to Zambia.
