JEE Advanced 2025: This time the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced 2025) will be organized by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK). The institute has announced the JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Criteria for Indian and foreign nationals on the official website jeeadv.ac.in.
Making a major change in the eligibility criteria, the number of appearances in the exam has been increased. Now candidates will be able to appear in the JEE Advanced exam three times. Earlier this number was two.
When will the registration start?
IIT Kanpur will soon release a detailed information bulletin related to the exam date, registration process, application fee, exam pattern, syllabus, marking scheme, etc. on the official website of JEE Advanced 2025. Candidates who qualify for JEE Mains 2025 will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2025. This exam will be conducted for admission to IIT.
JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility: Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2025 have changed only in the maximum limit of attempts. However, candidates are required to fulfill each of the criteria. Below you can know the criteria:
Criterion A1: Performance in JEE Main 2025
Candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 for BE, BTech. Check the official notification to know the category-wise distribution for the same.
Criterion A2: Age Limit
Candidates must be born on or after 1 October 2000. SC, ST, and Divyang candidates are given a relaxation of five years. Thus, these candidates must be born on or after 1 October 1995.
Criterion A3: Number of Attempts
A candidate can appear for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam a maximum of three times in three consecutive years.
Criterion A4: Appearance in Class 12
The candidate must have appeared in the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in the year 2023 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates who appeared in the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2022 or before are not eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2025.
If the respective board of Class 12 (or equivalent) has declared the results for the academic year 2021-22 on or after September 21, 2022, then the candidates of that board are also eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2025, provided they fulfill all other eligibility criteria.
