New Delhi: The State Bank of India has issued an important warning. SBI bank account holders have been advised to be cautious. Some rules of banking have changed including UPI payments from November 1, and the rules of credit cards are also going to change from December 1. After this, messages are sent to SBI account holders about some reward points through WhatsApp and messages. SBI Bank has officially advised you to avoid opening the link given in these messages.

Fraudsters are now finding new cybercrime methods for fraud. Recently, many SBI bank account holders have received a message saying that their reward points are expiring. A link is being sent saying to redeem the points before the expiry date. Due to the change in rules, such scam messages are being sent to the customers.

It is written in this message that your reward points are expiring soon, so redeem the points quickly. If you open this link, money may disappear from your account. Fraudsters will attack your account through this link and withdraw all the money from your account in a few moments. The bank has also advised that even if you do not have money in your SBI account, do not try to open this link. Even if you do not have money in your account, fraudsters can cause you great harm by stealing personal information like your bank details, and PAN card details.

SBI has warned about this in its official press release. SBI has said that it does not send messages to customers through WhatsApp or message about the expiry date of their reward points, the number of reward points or any other information. Get all this information only by visiting SBI net banking, app or nearest branch.

Do not trust any phone number or link given in the message. Call the bank's customer care directly or get information through the official app or website. Activate two-factor authentication security in your bank account. This will require an OTP code in addition to a PIN during transactions. This will provide two-tier security to your account.

Do not trust messages received through social media, WhatsApp or messages. Confirm the information through your net banking or bank app only. All information including balance checks, and reward points is officially available there. Therefore, do not trust external links or messages, the State Bank of India has advised. Do not click on links from unknown people or forwarded messages and do not fall for any offers or other tempting promises.
