At the recently concluded Indian Mobile Congress, state-owned telecom company BSNL has launched its new logo and slogan. Apart from this, seven new services were announced, one of which is the facility to make phone calls without a SIM card.

The name of the new service is "Direct to Device"

About this service called "Direct to Device", BSNL says that this connectivity connects satellite and terrestrial mobile networks, providing consistent and reliable connectivity. Developed in collaboration with Viasat, BSNL also demonstrated satellite-powered two-way messaging services at the recent Indian Mobile Congress.

Trial completed

D2D calling will be started by the government company BSNL. BSNL has also completed the trial of D2D calling. BSNL has partnered with global satellite communication firm Viasat for the D2D calling facility. Under D2D calling, users will be able to make audio and video calls to each other without a SIM card or additional network. D2D technology can be used with a wide range of smart devices including smartwatches as well as Android and iOS. The best part is that D2D technology will work even in areas where no network is available.

How does Direct to Device Technology work?

Viasat's Direct-to-Device connectivity is a revolutionary technology that enables mobile phones, smartwatches, and even cars to connect directly to satellite networks. This technology is designed for both personal and device communication, providing reliable connectivity from any location, especially in remote and under-served areas.
