Thanks to a brace from Amad Diallo, Manchester United defeated PAOK Thessaloniki 2-0 at Old Trafford to earn their first Europa League victory of the year.

United interrupted a run of three consecutive draws under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, which had started under Erik ten Hag.

Goalie Andre Onana was in excellent form and made crucial stops, including one from Mady Camara, despite PAOK creating many opportunities in the first half.

Bruno Fernandes made a perfect cross after the interval. United took the lead thanks to a header from Amad that went into the bottom corner.

PAOK attempted to equalize, but Taril Tissoudali’s close-range attempt was stopped by Onana’s vital save.

Amad curled in a shot after intercepting a pass in the 77th minute. The victory was sealed when the ball deflected past the PAOK goalie.

United rose to 15th place in the Europa League rankings as a result of the win.

They are still in the running for qualifying with six points after four games.
