People are getting ready to stay warm as winter approaches, often grabbing for their warm clothing, blankets, and comforters. However, because of their expense and need for power, heaters, despite their effectiveness, are not a viable solution for everyone. A creative idea of a guy building a temporary heater out of bricks has just gone viral. This do-it-yourself solution has gained popularity as a novel jugaad (a creative cure) for surviving the cold. It was shared on the Instagram account monuexplorer.
The maker of the film employs bricks in a configuration that resembles conventional house heaters, sometimes even serving as a surface for cooking. He starts by carving a groove at the top of the bricks as part of his approach to altering them. Despite being inventive, viewers have voiced worries about its safety, referring to it as a “deathly device” because of the possible risks, particularly given that it still needs energy to operate. Online responses to the film have been conflicted; while some have praised the inventiveness, others have warned of the dangers of utilizing such an unapproved and makeshift heater.
The guy inserted a heating element he bought from the market after making three grooves in the brick as part of his do-it-yourself project. In order to link the arrangement to a switch in his room, he threaded wires behind the brick and mounted the element. The video demonstrates his procedure in detail; however, it missed an important safety precaution, which several viewers brought out in the comments. His biggest error was leaving the wire uncovered and inadequately insulated, which may have resulted in fire dangers or even electric shocks.
Another serious problem with the do-it-yourself heater in the video is that the heating element causes the brick to heat up rapidly, which also warms up the wires that are connected to it. A short circuit might result from this, which would be very dangerous for a fire. As some viewers noted, the brick would become so hot that it would become indestructible, making it potentially hazardous to handle or position next to other objects.
Because of the risks it may pose to anybody in the vicinity, several commenters even referred to it as a “deadly device.” Some viewers argued that purchasing reasonably priced heaters or heating plates from the market would be safer and more efficient than using this dangerous configuration. The video has received 8.5 million views and generated a lot of conversation despite these safety concerns.
