Bhushan Patiyal: I know the path to my acting dreams won't be easy, but I'm ready to face whatever it takes to make it happen
If it weren’t for his passion for acting, Bhushan Patiyal might have pursued a career in engineering. But instead, he chose to follow his heart, leading him to Mumbai, the city of dreams. He shares, “I was born in the small town of Rampur Bushahr in Himachal Pradesh, and I come from an Army family. After completing my schooling in Himachal, I moved to Delhi with my brother and cousins. There, I completed my BTech in Electronics and Telecommunications and started working right after. But while I was working, modelling offers began to come my way. That’s when I found myself drawn to theatre and the stage. I began performing, traveling to different cities, and after 14 plays, I knew acting was my true calling. That’s when I joined a film acting course.”
To make the leap to Mumbai, he knew he needed financial stability to support himself through the inevitable struggles of starting out. He explains, “I understood the challenges of being an actor in Mumbai, so I decided to setup a business to be financially secure first. Fortunately, the business took off, and once I’d saved enough to sustain myself, I made the move.”
In 2019, soon after arriving in Mumbai, Bhushan landed his first project opposite Ssara Khan . However, the film was left incomplete due to unforeseen circumstances, including the pandemic. He reflects, “It was disappointing, but I had prepared myself for setbacks. I stayed focused, and eventually, I got another chance with the film Aakhir Palaayan Kab Tak? in 2023, which became my big screen debut. It released a year later and recently dropped on a digital platform.”
Looking ahead, Bhushan knows the road won’t be easy, but he’s ready for the journey. “I realise the path to fulfilling my acting dreams won’t be a cakewalk, but I’m prepared to endure and embrace whatever it takes to make it happen,” he concludes.
