Vice-president elect JD Vance 's dog Atlas turned 1 on November 5, the day Republicans registered a memorable victory with an impressive margin. Hogging loads of limelight as he accompanied his pet parent JD Vance, Atlas is no less than a celebrity. However, many speculated that he was rented to make Vance seem like "a dog fan," a claim which was far from the truth.
Vance joked about the rumours saying - "So, this is Atlas, which I found out on the internet a few weeks ago that he’s actually a rent-a-dog that was given to me by the campaign to make me seem like I’m a dog fan."
Jokes apart, he expressed his shock over the absurd speculations and reiterated his love for "our little guy". Many mistook Atlas' pulling of leash as a sign that Vance wasn't comfortable with his pet buddy.
Atlas entered the Vance household when he was an 8-week-old furball, and since then has been an integral part of their life. Vance family got Atlas from a local breeder.
Here's all we know about Atlas Vance , vice-president elect's beloved dog
- A German Shepherd , Atlas loves to walk every morning and 'whenever' else he wants throughout his family’s busy days, reports NY Post.
- Vance's pet buddy does miss his best friend, Pippin, one of the Vance family’s first puppies, who unfortunately died this year.
"Of course, we got him when he was an 8-week-old puppy, and we love dogs, and he's been our little guy. But he’s so well-trained and so normal. It's shocking to me that anybody would think that he's not our puppy, but here we are," 'Papa' Vance had said.
- Atlas's favourite foods list features lamb and blueberry dog food . His favorite human food is anything, including “any meat scraps” he can get his paws on, the Vance campaign had told the New York Post.
- There isn't one favourite toy that Atlast loves. He adores "any plastic or stuffed toy he’s lucky enough to find lying around the family’s house – whether it belongs to him or not."
Belated happy birthday, Atlas!
