New Delhi: Haryana opener Yashvardhan Dalal played a remarkable knock of 426 not out against Mumbai in their Col. CK Nayudu Trophy match on Saturday. This incredible innings set a new tournament record for the highest individual score surpassing Sameer Rizvis 312 for Uttar Pradesh last season. Dalals powerful knock included 46 fours and 12 sixes guiding Haryana to a formidable total of 732 for 8 by stumps on Day 2 at the Gurugram Cricket Ground in Sultanpur.
Mumbai won the toss and chose to field but their bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught from Yashvardhan Dalal and his opening partner Arsh Ranga. The duo put together a massive 410-run partnership with Ranga contributing a solid 151 before being dismissed by Atharva Bhosale. Despite Ranga’s departure Dalal continued to take control playing an aggressive knock and driving Haryana’s innings forward as wickets fell at the other end.

Interestingly Yashvardhan Dalals promotion to the top of the order came after a series of modest performances at No. 3 in previous matches. The move proved to be a masterstroke as he seized the opportunity to play a record-breaking knock that will be remembered for years to come.
Haryanas performance in the tournament had been underwhelming with a draw in their opener against Madhya Pradesh and a heavy nine-wicket loss to Jharkhand in their previous match. However Dalals monumental innings has provided a much-needed boost offering them hope as they look to turn their campaign around.
The Col. CK Nayudu Trophy now returning to its U-23 format after two seasons with a U-25 cap has witnessed several standout performances but Dalals record-breaking quadruple century stands out as a defining moment of the season. With this remarkable knock Haryana will aim for a dominant result in the game and use it as a springboard to improve their standing in the tournament.
