Latest News :- Kashi Tamil Sangam-3 will be organized in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh from 19 to 28 January. Prayagraj's Kumbh Mela has been postponed till next year for the darshan of Tamils. 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam 2022' was launched to highlight and strengthen the cultural connection of Tamils with Varanasi, UP. This Sangam, which lasted for about a month, was the brainchild of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In such a situation, Prime Minister Modi himself started this event in his Lok Sabha constituency. The second Sangam was also organized in Varanasi in November 2023. Similarly, Saurashtra Sangams were organized in Gujarat for the Telugu speaking people.

Now the third conclave, which was to be held in 2024, has been postponed to next year. To visit the annual Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj near Varanasi from 19th to 28th. Like always, this Sangam in Kashi has also been organized by the Varanasi District Administration in collaboration with the Central Education Department.

Regarding this, a source in the Union Education Ministry told 'Hindu Tamil Vectic' website, “The last two Sangams were organized in November when it was very cold. The difficulty the Tamils were facing in overcoming this was brought to the attention of the Prime Minister. To overcome this and witness the Kumbh Mela, it has now been decided to organize it in January. There will be a video conference today (11 November) on its complete arrangements. Some departments of the Central Government including Railways are also helping in this.”

The first Sangam was held at the Banaras Hindu University campus in Varanasi. The second Sangam was held on the banks of the Ganges at Namo Ghat (Namo Karai) on the suggestion of Varanasi District Collector Tamil S. Rajalingam. This newly constructed Namo Ghat on the Ganga has developed as a tourist destination after the Kashi Tamil Sangam. About five thousand people come here every day.

So the third confluence is also going to happen in Namo Van. As usual, Tamils from Chennai, Madurai and Rameshwaram cities of Tamil Nadu will be brought by special trains for this Sangam. Along with Varanasi, they will also be taken to Ayodhya and Prayagraj. Like previous years, Tamils will be represented in various categories. Official notification for this will be issued soon. After that IIT Chennai will select Tamils for in-person and online Sangamat.

When this Sangam program was first started, there were complaints that the BJP leading the central government was doing this for political gains. In the subsequent Lok Sabha elections, BJP did not get a single seat in Tamil Nadu. Due to this, it was believed that 'Kasi Tamil Sangam' would no longer happen. But it is noteworthy that Kashi Tamil Sangam-3 is being organized to refute this idea.
