6 cups cabbage
2 large onions
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 spoons green chilli
4 tbsp grated coconut
3 spoons refined oil
10 curry leaves
2 tbsp urad dal
Step 1
First of all, wash and clean cabbage, onion and green chillies. Then, using a clean chopping board, chop the cabbage into fine pieces. Keep it aside until needed again. Similarly, cut onion and green chilli into small pieces and keep them aside till needed again.
Step 2
Now, place a deep-bottomed pan on medium flame and heat refined oil in it. Add urad dal to the pan and fry it until it turns golden brown.
Step 3
Add chopped onion and green chillies to the urad dal mixture and fry the mixture for a minute or two.
Step 4
Add grated coconut to this onion-lentil mixture, then add cabbage and salt. Fry the mixture for 5 minutes. Once done, take out the thoran in a serving plate. Serve fresh and hot!
