Mumbai: Ration cards are providing great relief to poor families across the country. Also, with the ration card, people can treat their own health along with food. Similarly, now the central government is preparing to take a big step for the ration card holders.

The government is going to launch a new app (Ration New App) to redress complaints related to ration. It is reported that the government is distributing rations to 80 crore people. People will be able to resolve their grievances through the app.
The central government's ambitious One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) scheme aims to ensure food security for migrant workers across the country. The scheme, implemented by the Department of Food and Public Distribution, allows portability of ration cards across the country under the National Food Security Act.

All eligible ration holders under NFSA can avail of their food entitlement from anywhere in the country. All 36 states and Union Territories have been included in the ONORC scheme.
Meanwhile, the government launched the ONORC scheme in 2019. For nationwide portability of ration cards, genuine price shops or PDS centres have been equipped with ePoS devices. Also, the beneficiary's Aadhaar number is linked with a ration card for biometrically authenticated ePoS transactions.
Meanwhile, the rules have been changed from November 1 for those taking ration through ration card. New guidelines have been issued. If you don't have E-KYC, you won't get ration food. It is mandatory for you to do EKYC. Many still haven't done e-KYC. November 31 will be the last date for them. E KYC will not be done after that.
