Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh called 65-year-old Bhujlo Bai, who courageously confronted a wolf in Khakra Chourai village in Chhindwara district, to ask about her health and well-being and to guarantee that she would get the right care.

CM Yadav declared Rs 1 lakh in financial support from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and praised Bhujlo Bai’s bravery in facing the wolf.

CM Yadav said over the phone that he gave the Chhindwara Collector instructions to ensure the woman was treated properly and to arrange for her to be transported to Bhopal for further care if necessary.

CM Yadav also asked the victim’s family how they were doing in the meantime and promised to cover all medical expenses.

“The state government will give the courageous woman Bhujlo Bai full treatment,” the chief minister said. If more care is required, the sufferer will also be transported to Bhopal.

Notably, two ladies, Bhujlo Bai (65), and Durgabai (55), were resting in a field close to Khakra Chourai village, which is part of the Amarwara range in Chhindwara district, on Friday morning (November 8) while protecting the harvest. A wolf attacked Bhujlo at this time, biting off one of her hands’ thumbs.

Durga Bai hurried to rescue Bhujlo Bai as soon as she heard the cries. She was also attacked by the wolf, who injured her hand and head. For thirty minutes, the ladies and the wolf were engaged in combat. Then, using a spade—a sharp agricultural implement known as a “Phavda”—that was kept close by, Bhujlo Bai attacked the wolf and killed it.

Both of the ladies who had been hurt in the wolf assault were then taken to the district hospital in Chhindwara and were receiving medical care.

Following the CM’s instructions, collector Sheelendra Singh visited the district hospital to speak with family members and ask how the wounded ladies were doing. Additionally, he gave the physicians instructions to treat patients appropriately.
