Washington: The new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) would be headed by Indian-origin Vivek Ramaswamy and Tesla, SpaceX, and “X” CEO Elon Musk, according to US President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump stated in a formal statement on Tuesday, “I am happy to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in partnership with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will oversee the Department of Government Efficiency (“DOGE”).

“Together, these two amazing Americans will pave the way for my administration to eliminate government bureaucracy, reduce unnecessary regulations, cut needless spending, and reform federal agencies—essential to the “Save America” movement. The system and everyone engaged in government waste—which is a large number of people—will be rocked by this,” he said.

To promote extensive structural transformation and establish an entrepreneurial approach to government, DOGE will collaborate with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget.

It has the potential to become our generation’s “The Manhattan Project.” The goals of “DOGE” have long been the stuff of Republican leaders’ dreams. The Department of Government Efficiency will collaborate with the White House and Office of Management & Budget to drive extensive structural reform and establish an unprecedented entrepreneurial approach to government, he said, in order to bring about this kind of radical change.

“I’m excited for Elon and Vivek to improve the lives of all Americans while also implementing improvements to the Federal Bureaucracy that prioritize efficiency. Crucially, we will eradicate the enormous fraud and waste that permeate our USD 6.5 trillion in yearly government spending. Together, they will free our economy and hold the American government responsible to “WE THE PEOPLE.” A smaller government with more efficiency and fewer bureaucracy would be the ideal present for America on the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Their job will finish no later than July 4, 2026. “I have no doubt that they will be successful,” he said.

Musk posted on X in reaction to Trump’s statement, writing, “Department of Government Efficiency There will be flying merchandise.

Before abandoning his bid for president in January of this year to support Trump, Ramaswamy was also a presidential candidate. He posted a post on X, tagging Musk and writing, “We will not go gently, @elonmusk.”

In a second response on X, Ramaswamy wrote, “SHUT IT DOWN,” a catchphrase he often used to advocate for the dismantling of government agencies during his presidential campaign.

“President Trump received a resounding mandate from Americans to stop illegal immigration. “He’ll do it,” he said.

He said that he is no longer considering the Ohio Senate appointment that is currently pending. Indeed, this indicates that I will no longer be considered for the Ohio Senate appointment that is now pending. There are certainly huge shoes to fill for whichever Governor DeWine chooses to replace JD’s position. “I’ll assist them in any way I can,” he wrote on X.

Trump also made a number of significant announcements earlier in the day, including the appointment of former National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe as the CIA Director, White House Counsel William Joseph McGinley, former New York Congressman Lee Zeldin as the EPA Administrator, and Pete Hegseth as Secretary of National Defense.

In preparation for his official inauguration in January 2025, President-elect Donald Trump is working quickly to assemble his national security and foreign policy team after defeating Democratic contender Kamala Harris in the 2024 US presidential election.
